ReefWaters
Im afraid this is a stupid question but oh well. Can I wire a computer fan directly to a plug outlet to plug into the wall or do I have to have a more expensive fan? Here is a nice little fan and its cheap enough to use several if needed. ReefWaters
120 mm is about 3.84 inches. That might be a little small.... Any cheap fans out there? Link to comment
tinyreef
www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=312411 www.tigerdirect.com (computer fan) you'll need a ac/dc adapter for the computer fans. check the voltage but most of them are 12V. you'll need to know the power consumption too. hth Link to comment
JD2003
There are AC fans out there that you can use also. If you are putting it into your hood, you could wire it in parallel with your lights so it kicks on when you turn your lights on. Pay attention to the noise spec on any fan because some can be loud. The AC fans are also a bit more expensive. JD Link to comment

c_k_kuehne
check out this website http://www.orionfans.com They have about every concievable fan that could be made in both AC and DC. Just check for the specs you want then go to the distributors page and get the phone number of a local distributor. I got a 3.62" x 3.62" x 1" AC fan w/ terminal connectors and ball bearings. Rated for 21 cfm at 19 db noise and rated for 60,000 hours continous operation (over 6 1/2 years). Cost was $15.00 from a local distributor. The AC Radio shack fans are approx 28 db noise. Just an awesome fan website. Link to comment
