STRINGCHEESE
I lost a peppermint shrimp last week for no reason at all....so I thought. Last night I saw about 50 baby shrimp doing circles on my glass!!! Super cool! Apparently peppermint shrimp must die after giving live birth:) I'll try for pictures tonight. I need to get some up of my tank anyhow. Link to comment
MDeth
They shouldn't die...he must have been malnourished or you water is lacking in some trace elements. The babies will become food or die themselves Link to comment
FLcracker94
are shrimp Asexual breeders?? or is there male and female? If they breed Asexualy...baby bloodshrimp! lol... Link to comment
MDeth
sexually, although most are 'spontaneous hermaphrodites' Link to comment
jimbro
Are you sure it died? Usually Lysmata spp. molt, breed, carry eggs until they hatch, and repeat shortly after. It could just be a molt that you found, and the shrimp is hiding somewhere. Link to comment
