z28 Posted May 22, 2003 Share Posted May 22, 2003 i just bought two velvet neons for my 2.5 and one has already died. my amonia levels are low and stable and nitrite and nitrate, i have no snails so there is some amount of alge but i will soon have one. i have 3lbs of live rock and a 13 watt compact and a 10 g filter WHAT COULD BE WRONG?:*( Link to comment

Has it been cycled? also you can not have 2 fish in a 2.5 gallon tank. first off its far too cramped for 2 fish let alone 1 . second of all 2 fish in such a small tank will cause your levels to be un-stable and will cause the tank to crash.
