Top or no top?

Hi!

Setting up a 15G.

Haven't got a hood. I thought about getting a glass one but since I've got one of those overtank lighting stuff, I thought it wouldn't be necessary and it is better to not have any cover at all.

What do you think? I've seen that a lot of you guys and gals keep your tanks open.

But won't fish just jump out? I'd like to have a Pseudochromis paccagnelae and I've read that they're pretty good jumpers. How about clowns, do they jump too if the tank hasn't got a cover?

Zee ya! B)

My tank has no top. I've had a goby jump out so far. My clown fish has been in there for about a month with no problems so far though.

unfortunately, all fish jump. i've even seen a cowfish end up as a paperweight. X)

gobies especially like to migrate upstream, so if you plan on a goby you'd better have a partial top at least imo. i take the vinyl strip off and just use the glass panes at the front and back of the tanks. helps prevent jumpers and doesn't let the vinyl strip block any of the light.
