NanoJrFL
Should I use the filter cartridges (floss and carbon) or not at all? Or what should I use for filtration (Skimmer not an option) Link to comment
Physh1
You could always just go filterless..... I have done all my nano's filterless and have had great luck. I use an aquaclear fliter (empty) for circulation and use a hagen surface skimmer to keep the surface clean. Cameron Link to comment
Reefy
It would be helpful with a filter. Carbon reduces ammonia and the floss traps particles and stuff. Link to comment

Raise
I use my filter, and every 3-4 days take it out and rinse it. Then i let er run without the filter for 2-3 days and put the clean filter back in and repeat process. Link to comment
coralreefengr
I'm all for simplicity and minimal equipment. I have no skimmer or filter. IMO you don't really need the extra equipment. That's my reasoning. CRE Link to comment
