stvjohnsn
I've started a 10g tank to grow out some frags and to start I have put a 65W LOA 6500k above it. I'm more concerned about growth than appearance. For optimal growth, do I need some actinic also? Thanks Link to comment
BIGBOB
Yes most corals do need/would do better with actinic supplementation. Most actinic light lies between the 450 and 470 nanometer range. When getting actinic lighting simply buy an all actinic fluorecent bulb, or if you have pc's get the kind with one half daylight, and 1 half actinic. (not the 50/50s, but the other kinds) Link to comment
Nishant3789
actually, for FRAGS they tend to grow faster 6500k light, but as they get bigger, yes they will need actnic, but if thisi s just for a frag tank what you have is fine. Link to comment
