caja
Found this guy this morning in the new 7.5. I did some google searches for nudibranches...doesn't look like that. Possibly a sea cucumber or sea apple? If any one has any ideas let me know. Link to comment
caja
Sorry about the fuzzy pics, new Olympus digital and I need to figure it out still. This guy is about an inch long and his crown is about 1/4" or so. Moves about as fast as a nass snail moves. Link to comment
Acoustic
Looks to me like a filter feeding cucumber. You will need to directly feed him phytoplakton regularly. Link to comment
caja
Today I find out some more info on this critter. It is indeed a filter feeding cucumber (thanks Acoustic!) and the darn things release toxins. Not as poisonous as sand sifting sea cukes or sea apples, but toxins none the less. This would explain why I have this rash of raised itchy bumps on my forearms since setting up the new tank. AHA!! the lightbulb goes off! Sheesh, I washed my arms and hands numerous times too.
