Need an ID this thing is nasty

Ugh, take a look at this thing. What is it, it curled up really small when I took it out, I put it in a bowl and it started expanding again. Total max length ive seen it as is probably around 3-4 inches. Should I put it back in or flush it?

Looks like a peanut worm to me. Google that and see if images line up. You might also check wetwebmedia.com and google there.

 

Peanut worms are benthic. They live under or in crevices of live rock usually and hide during the day.

Peanut worm.

 

They're good. They eat by inverting their mouths and biting off pieces of live rock, adding more surface area for bacteria to grow on. They won't bother your corals, fish, or inverts.

Yep - benthic = good. I have one. They are cool to watch under the moonlights if you happen to see where it takes up home.
