Crab ID?

Sorry, I saw this little dude at the LFS but they didn't know what he was. He was a very small crab, his shell was about the size of a large pea... he was purply green, and he was fanning the water for food.

They thought he wouldn't grow too much bigger, and one person said it was a "pearl crab"....

Any ideas?

Porcelain crabs are filter feeders and they only have their fans out when they are actually eating. I haven't actually seen a picture of one feeding before.

'These crabs have a pair of front arms called maxillipeds, which have ends that are feather-like in appearance. They use these appendages to filter the water for any passing food. '

I could be wrong, but this is my best guess :)

I think you must be right then! Sounds close enough like "pearl" anyway :)

How much are they worth, give or take? LFS has them for 30$... CDN...
