ZoeS
Sorry, I saw this little dude at the LFS but they didn't know what he was. He was a very small crab, his shell was about the size of a large pea... he was purply green, and he was fanning the water for food. They thought he wouldn't grow too much bigger, and one person said it was a "pearl crab".... Any ideas? Link to comment
silverdust
Could be a porcelain crab?? They seem to come in different colors. Porcelain Crab Link to comment
ZoeS
I don't think so... the one I saw had fan hands? Link to comment
silverdust
Porcelain crabs are filter feeders and they only have their fans out when they are actually eating. I haven't actually seen a picture of one feeding before. 'These crabs have a pair of front arms called maxillipeds, which have ends that are feather-like in appearance. They use these appendages to filter the water for any passing food. ' I could be wrong, but this is my best guess Link to comment
