dweebikus
So, I'm thinking about restarting my 50g freshwater tank as a reef. I'm assuming the same factors apply to a a larger aquarium as the nano as far as flow, so here's what I'm thinking. Lighting I've got 2x96w ballasts hooked up in my hood, 1 is already a 10k, the other I'll replace with an Actinic. Eventually I'd like to replace this lighting with a MH setup, but I think I'd have to get rid of the oak hood I have since it would put the MH a few inches away from the acyrlic tank, which makes me nervous. Actinic bulb - $35 Filtration I've got an Eheim Pro II 2026, which I'd probably sell and be able to buy an AquaClear 110 and a BakPak2 skimmer for the sale price. I'd turn the AC110 into a fuge. I'd probably also get a MaxiJet 1200 for extra flow. About $220 total for all 3. Heat Heater is taken care of already with a 200w. So anyways, I think that's about it. Am I way off base? I don't have the space for a sump, so I'm hoping the filtration I mentioned would be fine, and if anyone has any feedback about mounting a MH retrofit or two inches from the top of an acyrlic aquarium, that'd be great.
