illuminum
I've had my tank set up for over a year and lately my alkalinity has been very low. I use a good amount of Reef Builder (raises alkalinity) every week and it is still dropping too fast. Any ideas as to why? I have a 24 gal nano. I recently realizes I had high phosphates (used phosban). I use distilled water for top off and use scripps ocean water for water changes (don't have time to mix my own). Can alkalinity swings be caused by pH, salinity, or phosphate problems? Link to comment

shag26272
defnitiely test your magnesium like jimbo said, the kit from twopartsolution is a great deal and is easy to use, it makes a gallon of calcium a gallon of alk and a 20oz bottle of magnesium. test for all 3 starting with the mag and then do the other 2 Link to comment
