monoman
I am in the process of making my own HOB refugium. I couldn't find any black acrylic locally and it iis my first time working with acrylic. I must say my skimmer cup is not the prettiest sight. I would like to paint it black. Is it safe to spray paint acrylic that will be in a reef tank? If not, I can sand it to give it the frosted look and/or hope for corraline algae to cover it. Any suggestions? Link to comment

bamann345
I painted the back of my nano. I painted the outside with latex based paint. I put 3 coats on and then put a layer of Duct Tape to prevent chipping on the paint! It looks awesome. I think you would like blue better than back. It makes the coralline stand out more.... my 2 cents... Link to comment

bamann345
Oh, sorry. I have no clue then......sanding might be a good idea, or wait a little and have coralline on it! Link to comment
