Feather Duster cast off his crown

My feather duster cast off his crown and I am wondering if he may be starving. I feed the tank once a week with Phyto Plex, is this not enough? Should I be feeding him something else? My nitrates are at 20 and have been for quite a while, I can't seem to get them any lower. Could this be why he stressed and cast his crown? He is still in his tube.

Any thoughts, please?

Should I be using something different like Phyto Plankton or Cyclopeeze

and target feeding maybe 2-4 times a week?

I have a 12g nano cube.
