Jackson
Hey all I just tested my water in my tank for Phosphates, i've never bothered testing them before and i don't know if the level i have is acceptable. Here is the test results. Ammonia - 0.0ppm Nitrite - 0.0ppm Nitrate - >5ppm pH - 8.2 sg - 1.025 Phosphate - 3.5ppm If this is bad how can i lower the levels without adding chemicals? Thanks in advance Jackson Link to comment
tinyreef
bump that is very high levels pf PO4 you got there but unless there's something amiss (i.e. rampant algae or stonys dying) i would not suggest messing with it just for the sake of having a low po4 level. it may just be that your test was off. if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it imo. if there is something wrong and you want to address the phosphate, the fastest, easiest & cheapest method would be a po4 adsorber like phosguard or similar in a hob. wc's can also help but too much work & $$$ for me. Poly-Filters are good too but $$$. bio uptake (i.e. algae scrubbing) takes $$$, space, and time. take your pick. Link to comment
