pods trying to eat cocoa worm?

so i figured out that my shrimp was stealing food from my cocoa worm so i make sure he is fed now and he dosnt bother it anymore.

 

 

 

the problem now is there are pods all over the worm's crown and it looks like they are biting it. the worm just shrivels up, i dont know if its trying to capture the pods and eat them or trying to get them to get off of him. it defintly looks like they are stressing it out. sometimes it will shrivel with a pod in it and go in its tube really slow and stay there for a few hours. does this mean it ate the pod? my tank has tons of pods and i cant put any fish in there to eat them because of an ich breakout a few weeks ago. any help is appriciated. thanks.
