ANGRYCLOWN
Bought a young tank bred Percula Clown which I think has brought in some kind of fungus disease. Fish appeared to be ok when I bought it, it had a shredded tail which I figured was from transport. Also its underbelly (pelvic) fins were not flared out as normal and the fish wasn't using them for swimming. I have been watching the fish closely and it has never been attacked or beat on by any of the other fish in my tank. Day 1: Fish appears ok. Sleeps 90% of the time. Day 2: fuzzy white spec’s on body towards its tail. (assumed it was some skin crush damage) Day 3: Fish hogging all the food, belly getting badly distended. Day 4: an additional spec of fuzz now on thoracic_fin Day 4: pelvic fins have suddenly disapeared, they look like burnt toothpicks, 2 little black stumps sticking out in the distended belly area. flap of dead skin hanging off belly in area of the stumps. Any suggestions? If this is fungus - how contagious is it? Link to comment
Gerber77
fuzzy white spec’s on body towards its tail. ICH. It is contagious. Put the fish in a hospital tank if available and treat it. Sounds like the fish is not doing so well. Day 1: Fish appears ok. Sleeps 90% of the time. Fish should not sleep that much. It should be active. Where did you buy the fish? Link to comment

I thought ich was more like grains of salt - and that this wasn't that because the spots look fuzzy. I've thrown in some kick-ich in any case. Link to comment
