which one first ?

hi,

 

i have planned to buy a DI unit.

 

i have a 4 stage RO filter.

 

just wanted to know which unit will come first ?

 

i think that i want to DI the water 1st and then let it go through the RO. this is coz, the DI will exchange the ions to some other metal, but do these metals harm the reef ? if so, they can then be rejected by the RO TFC membrane.

 

also let me know your experience about the DI units reducing nitrates from the supply water? i have 12.5 mg / L of nitrates in my water supply and will the DI take care of it ?

 

is RO better or DI or they both make the ultimate water.

 

is a DI unit safe for a reef as it excnahges some ions and gives out other.
