angelofdeath132
just changed over from c.c. to live sand 2 days ago, used 80lbs. "dead" sand on bottom followed by a 20lb bag of "live" sand. already getting green algae on it:( since i dont have $ for a clean-up crew right now is it safe to stir the sand? or will it kill all the good stuff in the live sand? any suggestions? also, before i go buy a clean-up crew, what critters are the best for keeping the sandbed stirred, Nassarius snails? any other ones? my tank is a 55 so i thought about 20 Nass. snails, 20 Cerith snails, and 20 Turbo/Astrea snails. any other helpful tips on cleaners???? Acoustic
DO NOT STIR THE SAND! let the natural process begin without manipulation. I made that mistake. Link to comment
