Uploadead Posted February 17, 2007 Share Posted February 17, 2007 It commonly infests LPS corals, the affected area must be cut off, there is no other remedy. It will infest the whole ank otherwise. A few pictures. It looks like a brown band cutting the tissue in half, and then destroying it all together. I can't take pictures because I cured mine . If you want to do the surgery thoroughly wash your chisel (don't oil it!) and be as careful as possible around the living tissue. Once you have cut around the living tissue wash it in clean RO water. Some people like to give it a hypo salinity bath for about 1 minute. Then plonk it in your tank or ideally a coral quarentine tank. Then remember to clean your chisel after washing every trace of water from it, dry it thoroughly (salt water causes rust) and use oil. Link to comment
