Neeed help SOOOON

Just setting up my 10g nano tonight

rinsed and added the sand (CaribSea)

then added the water

Now I have a milky tank with some frothy foam on top

I put on a HOB but the sand kept clogging up the impeller

Shall I just be patient and let things settle or should I do something?

you could probably shorten the intake tube on your HOB to lessen the sand in the impeller... I know my penguin has a two piece tube which i have shortened.

I suggest shutting the HOB off. Without any current it should settle within a day or two, and there's really no reason for any current without anything in there anyway. For future reference when you add sand, add the sand first, then put a bowl in the tank on the sand and pour the water slowly into the bowl. The water will overflow and trickle down the sides of the bowl, minimizing the stirring up of the sand. Good luck!

Update

4 hours now and no better

I took the HOB off and turned off the ph to the fuge

So now I guess I will just wait and see what it looks like in the morn

Thanks

Don't worry about it. If and when you add and arrange your live rock you're going to milk it up again. It can take days to clear but its all part of the fun. Those fines are good to keep in the sand - lots of surface area for denitrifying bacteria. ;)

Still a bit cloudy but going down

I turned off the ph to the fuge and that seem to help

I was at a shop today and she had some really good looking roch for $5 LB so I picked up bout 12 pounds of it. So little less than $5 cause she charged me $50
