jerseyreef
How would I start the Lifereef over flow - (Lifereef Prefilter Boxes) they sent me the instructions but that page was missing Thanks Link to comment
tinyreef
they should be able to email you some instructions. but if not i took an airline hose and siphoned out the air (don't swallow). or if you're dexterous enough, fill the u-tube with water (as well as the prefilter's chambers) and invert it quickly. there might be some air left in the tube but that should get pushed thru as the siphon starts (once the overflowing action kicks in). your best bet is to hit them up for instructions though. iirc, they go over it step-by-step. i think they might even have instructions somewhere on their website? make sure the chambers are seated and sealed/watertight though. hth Link to comment
nyumpa
i have a life reef the things works great. however to start it sometimes is a pain. 1) make sure the box inside the fill all the way with water 2) make the box hanging on the outside is filled where the u-tube goes 3) before you place the u-tube stick a piece of airline tubing up the u-tube, exactly to the middle. 4) place the u-tube in the tank, with the airline part carefully into the outside part. 5) looking at the u-tube you should see the airtube in the middle. 6) you will see an air pocket 7) your goal is to remove the air pocket, draw the air with mouth as you pull the airtube out(very important) 8) if done right most of the water well drain out of box in the tank Link to comment
