R*Frost*
I was just wondering what type of cleanup crew you would employ on a 24x12x12 16 gal tank will run on 2x36w and have a 2" DSB? What type of crew would you choose and resons why. I was thinking of nassarus snails for sand sifting what else do these eat? Link to comment
darkblade
I've got about 8 Nassarus in my 10, and 5 in my 8 gal. They do a REAL good job of sifting the sand. You never see them, except for their snouts, until you feed any fish you have. Then they'll pop outta the sand and consume any left-over food that the fish didn't get. Rest of my clean-up crews are as follows: 10 Gal said nassrus snails 1 Turbo (lazy, IMO) 3 Astreas 5 Margaurites (these and the Astreas do a great job keeping the glass clean) 5 blue leg hermits 2 Scarlet hermits 3 Bumble Bees (good scavengers. look pretty neat too.) 8 gal 3 Astreas 3 Margaurites 10 tiny blue legs (about 1/4") 2 Scarlets 5 Nas snails.
