Xenia frag from single polyp?

Can a xenia grow from a single polyp? I tried fragging by snipping off a single polyp today...hopefully it won't get blown away long enough for me to find out.

Xenia can grow from a a tiny little scrap of tissue. But you'll be better off waiting for it to grow a bit, let it split and you can slice off the new branch. The stuff grows so fast you really won't need to frag it. One xenia will soon be many xenia.

my emerald crab occassionally cuts polyps off. Some have attached and formed new colonies. It happens for sure. However, these colonies do not grow as fast as when you frag the stalk tissue, for some reason.
