Lebowski
Anyone have any idea on how powerful the eclipse 3 lighting ( i think it's a 6 or 5 gallon tank) is? How much wattage. I want to start a 5 or 6 gallon nano and was wondering if I should make my own lighting and get filter or buy the eclipse system Link to comment
channah
The eclipse three is only three gallons. I think it has a 9watt NO bulb. I have have the same set-up and use a 13W PC from Ahsupply Link to comment
Buzzfish
the eclipse 6 uses a 10W bulb, but its not too hard to install the 32W CSL retrofit into the hood. That's what i use and it works out pretty well. Link to comment
caja
I did the same thing Buzz did, but the hood needs to be vented with some holes or have a fan istalled. Link to comment
Buzzfish
oh yeah i forgot about that, I installed a fan but that introduced major evaporation problems so i needed a top-off system too. so basically: Eclipse 6 + lighting + cooling + top-off and you'll have a decent tank. Link to comment
Lebowski
er, or i can just get a regular 5 gallon+a penguin filter ( or something)+ my own retrofit hood+ all that other crap. Link to comment
