I've had it about 3 weeks. 11lbs lr and about 2-2.5 inches of ls. 1 x 13w 50/50 pc bulb (w/external ballast! Sweet!). Eventually it will house a few softies, zoos, shrooms, and a peacock mantis shrimp. What do you guys think? Anyone know of any good ways to do some surface skimming in a 5 gal hex? Thanks! Twins Guy Posted April 9, 2003 Share Posted April 9, 2003 hobzzzzzz- check out this link-there are a bunch of nanoreefers running these and with simple modification i'm sure it could be adapted to the eclipse. i had one of these 5 hex reefs setup very similarly to yours, GL with it. other option would be drilling the tank up near the top, fitting it with a bulkhead and using a small vessel, tank as a sump. sorry i can't elaborate more right now but if you're interested let me know and i'll get more in detail. take care-and have fun, looking good so far! tg Link to comment
