easterly81 Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 How often should I feed my Tiger Serpent Star, and what? I don't want him to get too hungry and eat my fish. I have been feeding him a piece of popcorn shrimp every other day. I don't want to over feed though. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Oh i have a purple firefish and a yashia goby do you think they are in danger? Thanks Link to comment
rics4me Posted January 20, 2007 Share Posted January 20, 2007 Your fish are not in danger unless they become injured or ill. As to how often feed your star it really depends how often and how much you feed your other inhabitants. Stars in general are scavengers and will find leftover food. If you feed your tank often you might intentionally feed your star once every 1-2 weeks. These guys have a slow metabolism so I would cut back on feeding every other day. In addition when you do target feed it, vary its diet beyond just shrimp. Crab, squid and non oily fish are good additional options. Link to comment
