I have been lurking on the forum for just over 4-5 months now and recently started my first SW tank. It has been running for just over 2 months now and is doing remarkably well!

Specs.

5.5 wide hex tank

ac30 hang filter/fuge

5.25 lbs live rock

1 inch sand bed

Livestock

2 red hermits (used to be 4)

2 certh snails

Lots of shrooms

couple small polyps

1 3 strip damsel

1 new Hawaiian duster

1.023 spg

0 amonia

0 nitrates

0 nitrites

ph 8.1-8.2 (fluctuates some)

I just recently added a hawaiin duster (5 days ago) and this morning I wake up and the water was a little cloudy - I then notice the duster is letting off bursts of a white cloudy substance. The damsel is not acting strange but does seem to be curious about what the duster is doing. Also the shrooms do not appear to be effected by this.

So what is happening??? Is it splitting? Is my tank in any danger? I had to leave for work so I could not examine any further but I hope all is well when I come home and I plan on doing a water change when I get home but a heads up to what is going on would be greatly appreciated. (I'll post pics of the tank later)

*NOTE: I also just did a 15% water change last night
