nanoman10 Posted April 4, 2003 Share Posted April 4, 2003 i set up my tank about three days, ago and i went to school today everything was fine and looking normal but when i came back home there are many spots of my sand that r turning this lgiht brown color!!!!! is this part of the cycling or should i be worried? what should i do????? SeaMountain Posted April 4, 2003 Share Posted April 4, 2003 HANG TIGHT!!!! 3 days isn't much. My sand started doing the same thing at about a week. 2 weeks old today! Hair algae coming on strong and a bunch of macro-algae too. Run yourself some water tests and keep track of them. Your tank is cycling! No worries! Link to comment

Dave ESPI Posted April 5, 2003 Share Posted April 5, 2003 sit back and let it run. Test your ammonia and nitrite. If either one of them get above .5 ppm, do a partial waterchange, then wait 2 days and test again. in the meantime, read and SEARCH for any quick questions that pop in your head.. chances are there is some great info on it here on nano .. hth Link to comment
