Ghostryder
I decided to finally take a step into the big reef tank and upgraded from a 24 Nano Cube (below): . . . to a 125 gallon custom acrylic tank (below): Here are some select pics of the inhabitants. The Clarkii twins: Home of the Clarkii twins (Long tentacle anemone): Yellow tang: Blue hippo tang: Branching hammers: Purple sea whip: Purple shrooms: Sorry, the pics are kinda crappy due to a crappy old digital camera. The tank has been up since October 2006, but so far, so good. Lighting: Two 250W metal halides, three 65 watt power compacts with actinics. Filtration: Overflow into custom berlin sump with Euroreef CS100 in sump skimmer (awesome, pulls out some pretty stinky green crap out of the water) Circulation: * Two RIO 1700 in tank pumps * Two Seaswirls * RIO 2500 return pump Corals/invertebrates: * Branching hammers * Purple sea whip * Blue, green and red shrooms * Fluorescent green trumpet * White trumpet * Green open brain * Pulsating xenia * Green plate coral * Various zooanthids * Starburst polyps * Sebae anemone * Long tentacle anemone * Small maxima clam * Cleaner shrimp * Purple lobster (in the sump/refugium) * Sandshifting starfish * Boxer crab (which I have not seen since I put him in) Fish: * Blue hippon tang * Yellow tang * Two clarkii clowns * Ocellaris clown * Red firefish * Diamond watchman goby * Three green chromis * Unidentifed lined wrasse Link to comment
Sushi
love the aquascaping, you did a great job! do you mind sharing how you did it? are they simply stacked, or did you epoxy/drill holes/etc to make those caves? Link to comment
Ghostryder
Thanks! The live rocks are simply stacked . . . the base pieces are fairly large and the caves are formed with curved pieces stacked on top. The tangs love swimming through the caves and hiding in them. love the aquascaping, you did a great job! do you mind sharing how you did it? are they simply stacked, or did you epoxy/drill holes/etc to make those caves?
