ANGRYCLOWN
bought this 6 line wrasse 2 days ago. Looked fine in the dimly lit store but once I got it home I could see the following. Tail shredded; bottom 1/8 of tail missing as if it had been snipped off with scissors. Transparent portion in dorsal fin towards tail end of fish. The fish is very active, constantly moving. It is eating and seems happy in the tank. Do you think the fish simply has damage (that will heal) or does this look like some kind of fin rot. Sorry the picture isn't clear - the fish never keeps still... Thanks Link to comment
bradarmi
I can't really see anything..keep an eye on him, and keep him well fed, and it should be ok. Link to comment
idog
Ditto^^^^ IF the fish is otherwise healthy, fins will grow back. Link to comment
Sharpie129
Sixlines are practically impossible to get a good pic of... if its moving around and seems happy it probably is damage and not disease... give it time... Link to comment
Six
no bacterial infection ("fin rot") looks like he had an altercation with another tank member (or one that you didnt plan to have like a pistol or mantis both of which would harass a sleeping wrasse). keep the water clean and his diet good and there wont be any issue with disease.
