Maroon Clownfish
... I know I'm most likely going to sound crazy, but here's my idea. I have two hang-on filters, one that is stuck full of crud and one that has a small bit of crud. On closer inspection the crud turned out to be algae. Just out of curiosity, I thought - maybe the blue-leg hermit crab will eat it! So I plopped one in. It immediately grabbed hold of the filter membrane... thingy and started chomping. It's still in there now. Should I keep it in there or take the thing out? It can get back into the tank if it wants to, too. Link to comment
circusordie16
he might just be pulling algae or other "food" off of the membrane and will probably eventually get around to other crud in the filter. i let my snails roam into my filter and if your hermit has a way to get back in the main display, why not put him in the filter.
