What came first?

I would like to know what everyone did first .... LR or LS. I hear some people put LR on cut pvc pipe to keep it off the sand and I hear some people put it directly on the sand..... Opinions? Views? Reasons? Thanks... David

first time around - rock on the sand.

 

when I moved the tank - rock on glass and then the sand.

I put down some Eggcrate first, (to spread out the weight of the rocks & reduce chance of a break), then covered the eggcrate with sand, then put the rocks on top, then I put the rest of the sand in.

First reef, I added my rock and sand at the same time. Second reef, I added my sand first let everything settle then added my rock.

 

It all works.

I used the eggcrate method as well and haven't had any problems since setting up.
