82SC
well I got a toadstool coral the stalk is jutting out horizontal and the head it pointed at about 45degrees at my lights it been about 4 days...lots of that brown stuff building up on the coral. I brushed off some of it and the slime because I read it can harbor parasites, fungi, etc... and kill the toadstool... but still no polyps...I brushed off the brown stuff last night, and overnight it looks like this...what gives?? included some pics of some other new additions tank: Link to comment
tinyreef
it can take up to a week sometimes for them to sprout when transferred. the slime looks like dinoflagellates. how's your skimmer working? you may want to increase waterflow at the toadstool. Link to comment
matteo_gugliotta
don't worry. Mine took about one week to recover after the transfer to my tank. The head was pointing to the bottom and I was very worry, but fortunately it soon recovered. Link to comment
sjpresley
After transport they often exude a "slime tunic" as a defense mechanism. It will take a week or 2 for it to shed. When it starts to shed you'll want to direct a little extra water flow it's way to help it out. Link to comment
