Acoustic Posted April 1, 2003 Share Posted April 1, 2003 I bought a rock with approximately 7 fuzzy mushrooms on it. Ever since then my water has had this wierd odor. I have had no chemistry changes that I can tell from standard tests. Nothing died and all is well in the tank except for the smell. 1)Do fuzzy mushrooms release a chemical? B)Can pom pom xenia pollute a tank? (Everyone comments on how it makes thier hands smell) 4)Can a sarcophyton elegans pollute a tank? Link to comment
Physh1 Posted April 1, 2003 Share Posted April 1, 2003 I believe the odor is from the mushrooms and the slime they expell. I usually either run carbon for a day or so or I do a small water change. Cameron Link to comment
freakaccident Posted April 1, 2003 Share Posted April 1, 2003 Xenia can emit some stinky a** juice. I removed a ton of Xenia once and it clouded my tank up. Water change and carbon made it purty again. Link to comment
