jdiver
On one of my pieces of lr, there are a half dozen critters that I am not sure what they are. They are coming out of holes, and have a "crown" of about 20 thin strands that shine fluorescent green, blue, red and yellow (I'm assuming refracting the light). In the center of each one are 3 or 4 what look like little tentacles moving around. They're really quite striking with the different colors. Sorry I can't post a pic, but does anyone know what they might be from my description? Thanks. Link to comment

kryptonite
I think it is some sort of a snail. I posted a question similar to yours a while back and that was the general consensus I got. Link to comment
Sahin
Not sure what it is without a pic, but heres a good article for ID'ing various hitchiker critters: http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/ Look thru the various pages its makes an interesting read anyway, and adds to your knowledge. Hope its helpful. Link to comment
grantlaw
Are the tentacles completely smooth, with no visible structure? Do they lie flat along the substrate, stretched out noticeably? The irridescence makes me think of fine bristles, or perhaps cilia -- and that makes me think of terebellid polychaetes. Check these photos . . . http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/ 1998/june/wb/photo4.asp http://www.mareco.org/rocky/ worm_feeding.html Any luck? Link to comment

jdiver
Thanks for the replies. Sahin- I have that hitchhiker database bookmarked and unfortunately didn't find it in there. grantlaw- That first picture link you posted looks almost exactly like them, minus the irridescence which is likely difficult to capture in a picture. At any rate, spaghetti worms are what they are. Thanks! Link to comment
