Nass snails and hermits

hi everyone i have several hermits and nass snails in a 12 gallon dx. today it seems that one of the nass snails may have died, actually didnt see the body but all the other nass snails came over like when a coral dies or soemthing. well i looked in the tank and the hermit was wearing a nass snails shell.

 

i figure this could happen but was wondering if i should do a water change when this happens? i dont want my nitrates to spike!! i usually change the water every sunday.

Bah the tank is fine, now if it was a fish decomposing in the tank and nothing was eating it... then yes you would be better off doing a water change.
