Light question`

I have a 48" straight pin flouresent light fixture being used as temporary lighting in a 40 gal tank. With 3" crushed coral and 3" of live sand and about 15 pounds of live rock. Are there any bulbs that I can put into the two flouresent sockets that would handle low light corals such as zoo's and mushrooms? Also are any inverts ok?

Take a look at the bullet proof reefs at www.garf.org. They have raised corals in 55 gal systems with 40W Normal Output (NO) lights. I'm guessing you didn't get much response here since most of us have nano-reefs which most people define as less than 30 gal. Anyhow, try GARF. They have lots of info on low light stuff. As far as inverts...anything non-photosynthetic should be ok. Just know what the requirements of each animal are that you introduce to your system.

Good luck.
