jdiver
I recently got a nice oak Oceanic stand for a new tank set up. I was told it was going to be a solid top, not reef-ready. When I got the stand, it was in fact a reef-ready with a hole cut out of one of the corners. Come to find out, all Oceanic oak stands are reef-ready. So now I'm trying to figure out a way to essentially cover the hole. Right now I'm thinking of getting a 1/2' thick piece of oak, routing the edge, and attaching that to the top. I figured I would ask if anyone has any other ideas that may be easier/faster and still look good, in case I'm just not thinking of them. TIA. Link to comment
jdiver
Nevermind this request, I'm going with a different stand altogether I think. Link to comment
freakaccident
Umm wouldnt the tank cover the hole anyway? I dont understand why you would need to plug it. Der! Link to comment
jdiver
The stand was sized for a 58 gallon tank (37x19), and we are putting a 26 gallon bowfront on it (24x15). You do the math, and then let me know about that "der" comment. Link to comment
Xwhite
Well, only one option then. Get a bigger tank. John Link to comment
jdiver
lol That's exactly the answer imo , but this tank is my dad's, and he was set on the 26 bow. For my next tank I'm going bigger and won't have all these dumb stand issues. Link to comment
freakaccident
Ahh well that makes sense but Umm.. still "der"...... Get a 58g to fit the stand or get a stand to fit the bow. Link to comment
jdiver
We did get a stand to fit the bow. It just happened to be a not-as-described reef-ready one with a big hole in it. Der. Link to comment
freakaccident
Im sure you can figure something creative to do with the hole. Auto-topoff? Link to comment
