rig
Hi, I just would like to make sure my heater location is ok. I'm placing a 75W Pro-Heat Titanium heater in the back center of my tank, about 1" above the substrate, and then burrying the power cord in the sand until it reaches the corner. If I do this is OK if some of the live rock touches the heater? I've just read on instructions for other heaters not to place the heater next to any rock or anything, but I cant find it saying that about this heater. Thanks. -Todd Link to comment
freakaccident
When its on and in the water grab it and see if it burns you. If not then I don't see a problem. A glass heater will burn the crap out of you if you hold it for a few seconds. Link to comment
sjpresley
I would make sure there is decent water flow around the heater. If there isn't really good flow behind the rock-work, don't put it there. In addition, the thermostats on heaters (as a rule) suck. I wouldn't put it anywhere that you won't be able to adjust the setting. Link to comment
