topfish
Hey all, I have had my penguin biowheel in my 10 gallon for like 2 mos. I've been reading that they can in some way harm your tank(dont remember exactly but im guessing something w/ nitrate). What should I do with it? Thanks! Link to comment
Physh1
Any other biological filtration (like your bio wheel element or bioballs in a wet dry) do tend to create nitrate faster. These do tend to process waste faster than your rock does. You don't need this wheel in your filter.....your rock is more than capable to deal with the biological needs of the tank. You can still use the filter insert but I'd remove the wheel. Cameron Link to comment
topfish
thanks, im getting clams soon os they would eat up the nitrate, should I just remove the wheel or keep it because of the clams? Link to comment
