Snazzy
i want to eventually get a 15gal tank with about 10gal sump/refuge and get a anemone like a BTA. ill get it from my LFS who is "breeding" them. ill also have 2 clown fishs in there. 1) Is is possible to have a healty BTA in a 15gal under PC ligting? 2) if you can use PC lighting how much wattage would i need? 3) What kind of PC would you get if its possible? 10000k? rics4me
You can keep BTA's successfully under PC lights in a 15 gallon. Your wattage would depend on the depth of the tank but as a general guideline shoot for 5 watts a gallon. 10 K lighting will suffice. Link to comment
idog
Don't trust any LFS who tells you they are "breeding" anemone. They don't breed in captivity. If you do get one, make sure it is a clone. They can be kept and do well with enough PCs. Supplemental feedings are of benefit as well. The Watt/gallon rule is out the window in nano's. I would think 96 watts of PC over a 15 is the minimum. They are shallow species so 10k lights would be the best IMO. Link to comment
Snazzy
well idk if you call it breeding but they have a huge tank like 50gal? that is a all pink bta with 2 250 halides over it. i guess you would call it cloning? Link to comment
