I intend to put a couple more in as soon as the lfs gets them in. They are cool to look at. They are basically a black nassarius snail with yellow strips. Only mine arent always in the substrate. They like to hang on rocks but seem to sleep allot during the day and are active mainly at night. They have been hanging in the Yellow Polyp colony eating the algae. I say get them.... they are cool and you see them more then the nassaruis snails. Link to comment
Osprey
I got four bumblebees and four nassarius at the same time (for an 8 gallon tank). They're both more active at night. During the day, the bumblebees hang out on the rocks and hardly move, but they are usually easy to find. They do look cool, and they do work on the rocks and substrate both. Link to comment

bank_vault
Bumblebee snaills are cool as long as you get the smooth shelled ones with more than one yellow stripe. If they have only one stripe and the shell is interconnected squares/rectangles then pass. Those are tank destroyers. Link to comment
chrisstankevitz
I disagree that bumblebees are like nessarius snails. They do not live in the substrate and they do not eat dead/dying critters. BB snails look good at first, but all three of mine have white crust growing on their shells. I think it's calcium. Mine only come out at night. Chris Link to comment

Chris Mine dig in the sand bed and I see them half buried at times during day light hours. Lately they have been hanging on a rock I have a colony of yellow polyps. They have consumed almost all of the hair algae and are now moving back towards the substrate. One had some coraline algae growing on its shell but thats now gone and they look just like in the photo on: http://petsolutions.com/images/200/170950.jpg http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di....cfm?pCatId=565 http://www.etropicals.com/product/prod_Dis...amp;pCatId=1355 So far they have been nothing but good for my tank.
