Weetabix7 Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 I've had 2 of those same Money Cowries for several months now, and I love them!!! They're really fascinating to watch. One of the interesting things about them is that they all have different patterns and colorations on both their shells and their mantles. From what I understand, they are the only Reef-Safe Cowrie. Money Cowries are Reef Safe and sometimes will even eat some of the Pest Algaes that other CUC won't touch. That's why I originally bought mine. From my own experience it's hit or miss as to whether they'll eat the stuff (in my case Cotton Candy Pink Algae), but they're super neat critters and I'm really glad I got them. I got mine from Premium Aquatics for something like 7.99 each. Link to comment

I've had the cowrie in my 40g for quite a while now and figured it would add a little life to this tank. I started feeding both of my tanks Coral Frenzy about 3 weeks or so ago and the zoa/paly growth has been pretty insane since. Link to comment
