ZeroEvoX
Hello The most helpful community on the internet, My God how i missed this hobby and this place. I don't know if any of you guys remember some of my old builds: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/317845-zeros-official-build-threadnew-pics/ http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/340466-miester-aqua-114-build/ After a series of moves, job stress, and just all out traveling, I have finally decided to get back into our beloved hobby. Since i spend 40-60 hours a week at my desk I've decided to go back in with a combination of leftover equipment, and a brand spanking new tank. Just looking for some knowledge , and i know this is the place to look. My Build is going to be: JBJ Pico 3 gal Aqualclear 70 for filtration and fuge (leftover fro my 11 gallon) AI NANO(left over from my Nuvo 8) Koaralia Nano(Left over nuvo 8) My question is do you think the light is severe overkill? If i remember correctly it can be adjusted. It will be hanging about 8" off the rim of the tank. Thanks everyone ***EDIT 9/20/16**** Hey All, My Build ended up being really close to this Tank just finished cycling so reefcleaners CUC on the way, i'd thought i'd update the equipment and everything else: Equipment: JBJ 3gallon Picotope AI Nano lighting Smart ATO Micro Aquaclear 50 with Intank Basket Stock Filter Neo Therm 75 W Heater Filtration: Floss 3.5 lbs of live rock and Probably eventually purigen or Chemi pure elite Livestock: Polyps and LPS Mostly Really want a green clown goby! And a pom pom crab(maybe) Link to comment

I'm looking forward to this tank. Link to comment
Reefkid88
The light should be fine, just dim it down, sounds like a solid build though. Link to comment
ZeroEvoX
OK, Tanks Up Picks to follow, But its been 3 days and the water is still cloudy, I put another HOB filter on adn the water is still cloudy, Should i do a massive water change? I think its the dry rock i used. IM gonna try a 75% water change see if that helps. I dont know whats causing this, never had the issue before. Im using Red SEA salt mix, and i used fine sand maybe its the fine live sand? Link to comment

I noticed you have an AC70 and what looks like an AC20 on the right side? how is the flow for you? did you swap anything out? How do you like the heater? Hey Man, I'm Actually Running and AC50, got it on the SUPER cheap(25 bucks) , so I;m running the stock filter from the JBJ picotope as well. Eventually ill probably get an AC70 with a koralia nano or something , but the water movement is pretty damn good right now, Maybe not for SPS , but everything else should be fine. I DID put an intank basket in the 50 for the future to run Carbon or Phosban or Purigen, But i might not need to, time will tell. The heater rocks, i used Neotherm in all my tanks and never had an issue, i know the larger ones had issues back in the day, but mine have all been fine. I had an eheim Jaeger 75W(5 years old) i just broke for my mixing bucket, so i bought a cheapo from LFS for now to replace that. Hope that helps Link to comment

Do you think you'll need extra flow for basic softies? I doubt it, I only Plan on keeping LPS and Softies in here anyway. Heres a video , you can tell by the shimmer the water is moving, I actually have the ac50 only pushing 50% power right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHE2hUwYDiw Link to comment
FlamingPrawn
Looks like an ac50 might be enough haha. Link to comment
