inGrow -- the winter bathroom grow house

Even though it is somehow 70º in November the time came to bring in the plants that are to be saved. This year I'm trying to save more and ran out of space in the showroom due to the increase of aquariums.

So we converted the 2nd bathroom into a greenhouse. Original Radion, and two LEDs that came with the Fluval M40 and M60. Probably will add a Kessil A360 as well.

This should keep them for the winter and may even cause them to continue to grow.

lighting:

  • ecotech radion XR30 gen 1
  • kessil A360WE
  • fluval M24 24" marine & reef led
  • fluval Nano marine & reef led

hardware:

  • kessil spectral controller
  • 2 - manual timers
  • powerstrip
  • zip ties & squares
  • cable staples
  • dyson V6
  • watering can - for now

livestock:

  • 2 - jane cowl hibiscus
  • 2 - palm thingies
  • 1 - lime tree
  • 0 - flushed hookers

LOL the room has sunrises and sets. Random thunderstorms. Next up auto watering system which may or may not be called Shipping Jeff.

Why does he put up with all your crap? Just wondering...

Sure is, he's only 19.

He could be digging a ditch or humping shingles up a roof all day. Instead he gets to spend it in a climate controlled building shipping, packing, and cleaning all while enjoying a very flexible schedule with good pay and Swedish fish as benefits.

You need geckos and anoles running up and down the walls.....and on a completely separate subject the DEA has survailance on a potential "farm" in your area....look for cars with plain rims and dark windows.

Bump. How's this lookin'. Especially now that real winter has come to Wisconsin.

Looking alright. The lime tree went into a healthy bloom again so hopefully it will start to produce in spring and be ready by early summer.

The Hibiscus have lost a lot of leaves. Seems the root ball is really tight and the pots I have them in too small, so water isn't retained. Going to start watering them more than once a week.

Palms are growing and look great. I'll try and get some new pics up soon

Hey stevie, I've had good luck with watering my hibiscus indoors on a mistking water system, gets sprayed 3 times a day for 5 mins each time. I stopped the spraying schedule 2 weeks ago and hand watered and lost alot of leaves and blooms, now that it's back on the schedule it's rebounding fast.

So spray on the leaves? Needs the humidity eh

Yea they like some of that. Especially how dry it is right now in the house, here's a video of my chameleon enclosure with the mist king spray system running, you can see how good the plants were doing.

Prob got some mister attachements for the drip irrigation system at home. May rig that up or just bring in my pump mister and do it manually/make it shipping Jeff's new job

The hibiscus to the left looks a lot worse. I can already see more frequent watering helping the one to the left

Another thing that seemed to help is putting a fan in the the room faced at the enclosure, I had it turn on 15 mins every hour and it keeps excessive moisture wick off and keep mold from forming with frequent watering.
