hooligan_78
Update: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/374112-few-shots-of-my-im-fusion-20/ After a long hiatus and some life altering events, I finally got a tank. Small and easy to take care of was the plan. No more clownfish breeding or 40b reeftanks especially in the city. I used a lot of stuff laying around work and built a small tank on a shoestring. I used a piece of liverock and a little sand from the shop to seed the tank, used Nutrisea to fill and have a jug of RO for top off, so far just manually. I was concerned about evap, but it has been much less than expected. I'll try and get a few more pics of all the zoas later today and some shots of equipment. I also added a KZ product that is supposed to time release trace elements. My coworker and I are using my tank as an experiment as to its efficacy. Equipment: Beta Bow 2.5 AC20 chemipure blue, sponge, bio media Coralife Mini T5 Deep Blue Solar Flare Actinic Livestock: Small nasarrius snails, bumblebee snail. So far, various zoas and gold Darth Maul palys. Monti Digitata. Plan on a small damsel, goby, or pistol/goby combo. The setup Cloudy FTS Link to comment

hooligan_78
Yesterday I did a water change and upgraded the AC20 to a 30. Much happier with the flow. Link to comment
hooligan_78
And a 9 gallon upgrade in my future. An Eheim Aquastyle. I got a good deal on the tank, free, as it was laying around the basement at the shop. I'm also going to mod the AC70 and put a Tunze 9001 skimmer into the filter. I have an MP10 that was irreparable, but I fixed it and got it wicked cheap. It's a pretty cool tank, as it has a square footprint and some decent height. I grabbed enough sand from work and I a little more base rock to add to it. Once I'm confident with the system, I'll be adding some nice SPS and a pair of onyx percs we have here. Link to comment
hooligan_78
So I got everything moved over to the new 9 rimless. Still need to throw in a heater and will maybe go with a Tunze Osmolator Nano. Was still a bit cloudy when I took the pics and my phone camera could not handle the shimmer! I was thinking of adding a little more rock, maybe a couple of fist size pieces. Thoughts? Link to comment
Elizabeth94
Love the rimless tanks. Maybe add one more small rock to get some height? Link to comment
PieMan2k
Only problem i see is that you have 3 fish in a 9 gallon. 2 clowns and 1 damsel, wouldn't they either run out of room or wouldn't they become majorly territorial and fight? Link to comment
hooligan_78
I have no clowns and no damsel. Forgot to mention dickhead was removed from the equation. And the onyx clowns, which I marked not for sale, were sold today. Back to the drawing board. Link to comment
hooligan_78
Added a Tunze Ozmolator Nano and a rainford goby. Cell pics are bad. Link to comment

hooligan_78
So I don't have to drill, I'm really thinking of a CPR CS50 overflow to a 10 gallon sump. I'd love to free up the display and it's a really good way to introduce my gf to a sumped system on a small scale. I could also do a slightly larger skimmer than my currently planned Tunze 9001. Originally I wanted to mod the AC70, but I really like the size of the filter as it gives me several media options. The 9001 is small enough that I don't think it will take too much room if I magnet it to the side of the tank as is. Thoughts? Link to comment
