Peppermint shrimp always dying

Have had my tank going for years, every time I try to add a peppermint shrimp it seems to vanish/die.

I just added 3 more a few weeks ago. Within first week the smallest was gone, then a week later the other two were gone.

I feed the tank daily mix of mysis/krill soaked in garlic/selcon.

I have a cleaner shrimp that is super active and going strong for a few months now.

I manually fed the peppermint shrimp daily with a pipette to ensure they were getting food, they had all started being more active during feeding time so seemed like things were going well.

Then poof, gone.

Fish are: 2 firefish, 1 banggai cardinal, 1 green clown goby.

I have a hard time believing parameters are going wonky as the cleaner shrimp is fine, corals all growing like crazy etc.

They are cheap so this isn't the biggest problem in the world, I just hate to be the cause of things dying..

Wow.

It seems like no matter how much immaculate planning I do for a perfect stock list something always manages to go sideways.

Lol, trying to tank my friging tank with peaceful fish that won't terrorize eachother/kill everything.

Seems when the conditions allow it, all reef fish are a-holes.

you should not buy more than 2, they will kill the smaller one. Them ending up disappearing seems normal.

That's why I stopped buying them.

I read elsewhere that they are social and do better in larger groups.

I usually buy 1-2 and they always disappear.

They do a great job on aptasia.. then a week after they poof the aptasia is back -.-

Cleaner shrimp. That's the culprit. I've watched videos of them eating peppermints. I searched high and low for answers and I read this and didn't believe it..... Until I saw it
