I'm assuming you're not feeding the tank because you have no fish so they are most likely trying to forage for food on the zoanthids. They will self regulate in time but you might lose some zoas in the process. You can try fresh water dipping the zoas for a minute, and keep them above the sandbed on an eggcrate rack or something.
