WP10 Pico?

If you have a heavy rock structure you may be able to get away with it on the 50% mode. I stuck mine in a fairly empty 10 gallon and at 50% it created a bit of a sandstorm.

Not if you run it at 10%...

If I am not mistaken the WP-10 only has 3 power settings, 100%, 75% and 50%. Everything I have read about the WP line of pumps is that they are more powerful than people think. All the anecdotal evidence I have seen would suggest that a WP-10 in that small of a tank would be too much.

I saw a guy on youtube that swapped out the power supply with a 12V, and he had it in a BC29. From what he said, it was way too powerful with the origional power supply, and created a big sand storm in his tank. Now with the 12V power supply, it cut the power down by 50%, and on the lowest setting in wave mode, it seemed to be working well for him. Those Jebao WP's move some water!!!

I think I'm gonna go with one of these for my biocube......fish-street.com also sells adjustable power supply's for the WP's, so either way you'll be good

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got my pump today, it's really tiny. I'm running it on W1 S3 dial about half way in the left side corner of my 5.5g. If I get the dial just right I can get a nice wave but my tank starts sloshing every where :( It's very quiet though. I wouldnt say this pump is all that powerful but the dimensions of the 5.5g and minimal rocks make it a bit hard finding the perfect placement.

if you want to lower the power on the WP wavemakers(ALL of them) you have to find a power supply adapter that is less than 24V.

on all the jebao wp wavemakers:

24V = 100% full power (HIGHEST SETTING)

18V = 75% power (MIDDLE SETTING)

12V = 50% power (LOWEST SETTING)

6V = 25% power

for example:

if you use 18V power adapter

18V @ HIGHEST setting (75% power)

12V @ MIDDLE setting (50% power)

6V @ LOWEST setting (25% power)

I just tried a few different power supplies I had laying around. 5v didn't work at all, 9v powered on but the impeller couldn't spin and the 12v I found was the same. 10v worked but W2 W3 and Else didn't function properly(no wave making).
