badbread
Well here goes, tank has been cycling for about 3 weeks. I'm still holding off putting in any real livestock or serious corals for probably a month or so. Clean-up crew added last week after a huge diatom spike · Tank picked up and begun to setup on October 14th · All live rock was either dry or bleached and oxicleaned · "Dead" sand was used for the sandbed, seeded with a couple scoops of "live" sand out of my BC14 · Rock seeded with rocks that have been seeding in my BC14 chamber 2 · Vortech MP20 going to be moved into this tank eventually · FTS: Pics of the cabinet: Coolworks chiller with my custom acrylic silencer: Return mod to keep flow moving behind the rocks: Cooling for those really hot days: Custom acitinic light mod: Link to comment

badbread
Thanks for the compliments all!!!! The tank is still very young, I can't wait until things grow out and fill out. ATO is a Tunze and the kalk pump is controlled by the RK2 running through an aqualifter. I was battling some low dKH in this tank for a while but think I finally got it resolved. Go here: http://badbread.net/amline/ To see my online water test results, I scripted a little PHP, MySQL and XML so I can enter water test results, view them anywhere, have a solid backup etc... badbread
Kind of got a new camera, ordered a camera for my parents for Christmas, so did my brother, used his because it was better, forgot to return it and now it's to late to return to Amazon. We'll start with some FTS attempts: Got my first fungia from Neptune aquatics, it's nothing special but I love this thing, that orange adds so much to the tank: Jeff's zoa's and some green bay packers soon to be DBTC I hope: Chalice from the swap: Green monti of some sort, the polyps on this thing extend out SOO much: Green acro from the swap starting to encrust: Red blasto recovering from when I got it. As suggested by a BAR member, I started to feed them often and the torn parts of the blasto have now turned into little baby blasto's!!! Couple post feeding pics: Link to comment
badbread
Took some underwater macro's tonight with my Sony PoS and an underwater bag: Purple deaths DBTC and Nuc greens, nuc greens were 1 head at the swap, now 3-4 Top down shot with more light, the purple deaths don't look so purple in my tank Not sure what this is, monti of some sort I picked up at Neptune in the bargain bin, it turns from green, to reddish to purple, really pretty. The guy in the background is a DBTC from Sergio, looks bleached in the pic but it isn't, just light reflection Fusion experiment update!! Still trying to get a positive ID on this, thinking it's a leather, it's just growing down the stalk it is on. Macro of this monti, check out that polyp extension top left! DBTC frag looking healthy! JamesReef
Do these new JBJ still produce a "magnified" view from the front curved glass? I saw an older JBJ 28 next to a BC 29 at the LFS and I did not like how the JBJ distorted/magnified the view from the front. The BC 29's curve is very subtle and produced very little, if any, distorted/magnified view in comparison. Just my personal preference to not like that, however the built in HQI with the new JBJ's is kinda neat but I'd have to stick with a BC if they kept the curved glass the same on the JBJ's. Not sure if this is a new JBJ, it does have that curved side and it does magnify the corners but I really never pay attention to it. That video is very cool, great job on it. I loved the acan frag feeding at 4x speed! What kind of acan is that? Thanks! The acan was a DBTC from a local reefing club here in the Bay Area. There is another HD video of it eating I made here: Link to comment

It's so cool to watch the progression. As soon as the concoction hits the water it transforms into feeding mode and then gobbles it up. Link to comment
